Federalism

The first point that I would like to mention is the basis of Federalism. There where many reasons why the founding fathers opted for a federal system and the federal structure of the government. I think one of the main advantages of federalism in the United States is that promotes the diversity of opinions. The other advantage its that because the federal system establishes two levels of government, these two levels have the power to take action, if one level does not achieve a desired political goal at one level,  the other level can give the support of elected representatives. The federal system in the United States is established by the Constitution and powers are divided between the central government and regional. Another advantage of the federalists as like is mention in the book, "Even in the days when the United States consisted of only thirteen states, its geographic was larger than that of France or England" (pg. 50)

The second point that I would like to share is that in my experience I really think that here in the United States each state feels like a separate country. I say this because I been seen that we do not see the same in all states. California has a different way of seen things one example politics and how they see different groups of people. One more example is here in San Francisco is a "Ciudad Santuario" for immigrants.  For me, that is one example of how not all the states have the same opinion about a specific topic but they have to respect and not generalize. The local government has the power to make decisions to benefit society and demonstrate to the national government that they could have different opinions without harm society.

There are also comments against federalism. Some of them are that states basically differ in educational spending and achievement, crime, and crime prevention, and building safety, etc. If a state does not take good decisions in these topics Americans suffer the consequences. Another comment against federalism is that some people see a crisis in the expansion of America and the investment of each state.
