can you better express why filling the vacant seat left by RBG is turning out to be so controversial?
First of all, it is important to know that the federal court is divided into three parts. Encontramos la US district court (trial courts), US courts of appeals, and the United States. The Us district court is the lower tier of the federal court of the United States. The middle tier of the federal court system is US courts of appeals. These courts do not hear evidence or testimony. Rather, an appellate court reviews the transcript of the trial court proceeding, other records relating to the case, and the attorneys'respective arguments as to why the trial court's decision should or should not stand. The Supreme Court does not hear any evidence either. The Court's decision in a particular case is based on the written record of the case and the written arguments that the attorneys submit. They also present oral arguments that are presented in person rather than paper. Finally when the court has made a decision normally the chief justice assigns the task of writing the Court's opinion to one of the justices. Ruth Ginsburg passed way days ago, but what does this mean to the United States? Article II, section 2, of the Constitution, authorizes the president appoints the justices of the Supreme Court with the advice and the consent of the Senate. How RBG would be replaced? The president is supposed to receive suggestions and recommendations as to potential nominees for Supreme Court positions from various sources, including the Justice Department, senators, the candidates themselves, and other more. In this case, Donald J. Trump already selected someone and that person is Amy Barrett. Filling this vacant is being so controversial because, in my opinion, anything that has to do with our president is controversial. Many women saw the selection of the president as cynical and disrespectful to all the women who supported Ginsburg, as mentioned in the NY Times article,, "President Trump’s promise to name a woman to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died on Sept. 18 at 87, was cynical and insulting to the millions of women who view the late Supreme Court justice as a feminist icon." (Lara Bazelon) President Trump yes, he elected a woman, but this woman does not at all support the causes that Ginsburg fought so hard for gender equality. Juge Barret also wrote, abortion is "always immoral" she also struck a state law banning abortions at any stage of pregnancy based on fetal disabilities, including those that were threatening. Like the NY Times article mentions, "Her crucial vote on these cases and so many others will undo decades of the progress that Justice Ginsburg worked her whole life to achieve." (Lara Bazelon). This is why is so controversial. Justice Ginsburg’s most important legacy is that she was a forward-thinking, canny, and unabashed feminist.

What themes jump out at you that might relate to what you’ve learned so far this semester from your reading?
The most recent presidential debate has been one of the most controversial debates in the history of the United States. As I mentioned where our President Donald J. Trump is, there is controversy. I did not see the debate live, but the next day I saw how social media were filled with memes and videos about the debate. After that I was quite struck by seeing it, and after seeing it I understood why all those memes on social media. First of all, President Donald Trump was overly nervous and desperate throughout the debate (interrupting all the time). Biden answered everything very fluently and didn't seem nervous. But although Biden did not seem nervous, I consider that this debate was very poor on the part of the two candidates. Another thing that I noticed is how Trump turned away from Biden for bringing a mask everywhere as mentioned in an article by NY Times, "Mr. Trump mocked his opponent for wearing “the biggest mask I’ve ever seen”" ( Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns) He said it in the form of a joke, not knowing that the next day he was going to contract coronavirus. I think that this debate was very disappointing.
